A STORY LOST TO TIME
On October 5, 1931, Clyde Pangborn, accompanied by co-pilot Hugh Herndon, piloted the first trans-Pacific flight, flying from Misawa, Japan to East Wenatchee, Washington in their Bellanca airplane, Miss Veedol. The story of this historic flight was predominantly lost to time. Even so, a significant connection has since blossomed between the communities of Wenatchee and Misawa, Japan, the official sister-city of East Wenatchee.
